Launch day, part 3:the daily loop gets real

Where and when

This is the long list, in order, from the afternoon and evening of 2026-09-12. I'm grouping related commits so it's readable, but every item below shipped and merged that day:

• 13:19–14:01 — v1.1 daily loop: Today's Ask Refuel AI card, real check-in CTA, timeline preview, and the Care → Score support signal (242902f, 3dcd942).
• 16:56–20:10 — Life Timeline: day/week/month grouping, each child's birth as a milestone, an estimated-due-date marker for pregnancy, and "On this day" resurfaced memories (6c9776f, 23f0ada, fb2d3b6, 95fce62).

Today finally has a real daily loop

Today was the screen you opened and then didn't quite know what to do with. This afternoon it got a real reason to open it every day: an "Ask Refuel AI" composer card (Today never had a direct AI entry point before), a genuine "Check in — about a minute" call to action instead of a passive empty state, and an inline preview of your three most recent timeline events, linking through to the full Life Timeline.

Later that night, Today also started showing a single calm line under your score explaining what changed since your last check-in — "3 points lower than your last check-in, 30 minutes less sleep, energy lower" — instead of burying that explanation inside a sheet you had to go looking for.

Care Circle activity stops being invisible

Until today, whether you asked for help and whether it actually came through had no effect anywhere else in the app. That changed: the Refuel Score's support factor — 10% of the score, previously always neutral — now responds to your real last seven days of asking for and receiving help. Reaching out without getting help reads as "needs support," never as a penalty.

The Life Timeline now shows these moments too: an ask appears as a private "Care Circle help" event and updates in place to "support received" once it's answered, without duplicating any data. And the Care hub itself gained a quiet "Recent support" section listing your last few asks and how they landed — never the message you sent, just the shape of what happened.

Life Timeline grows up

The timeline feed was day-only; it can now group by day, week or month with a segmented control at the top. Two new kinds of entries appear automatically, read-only, with no extra data entry: each child with a birthday now shows their birth as a milestone on their own strand, and — if you're pregnant with an estimated due date — a single honest "Estimated due date" marker appears, always private.

And in the evening, Today started gently resurfacing a memory, family event, or milestone from a month or year ago that shares today's calendar date — "a year ago today" — tying the whole timeline system back into the daily habit instead of leaving it as a separate destination you had to remember to visit.

Weekly reports and insights get sharper, and explain themselves

Weekly Report 2.0 landed with two new sections built from the same support data: how often you reached out this week and how often help came through, and your best and hardest day by Refuel Score, with the hard day framed gently. A short, deterministic, non-causal narrative now sits above the whole report — no AI, no invented causation, just an honest, careful summary.

The insight engine (the same one that already powers Today) gained a new pattern: when your score the day after receiving support tends to run higher, it says so gently, without claiming it caused anything. A separate pattern looks at sleep against energy across your check-ins. And every insight on Today is now tappable, opening a plain-language explanation of what it does and doesn't mean — never a diagnosis.

Memories and Children become first-class

Two things that used to be implicit side effects of other screens got their own real home. Memories is a warm lens over the timeline for the good moments — not just health and stress — reachable from a Today card, with a simple capture flow and an optional link to a specific child. Children got a proper screen under You → Connections: a list with a gentle age label, and add/edit with name and optional birth date, which is also what powers the automatic birth milestone on the timeline.

Tapping into a child now opens a Child Home: their age, their memories, and recent timeline events on their own strand, plus a one-tap "capture a memory" for them specifically. It's context for you as a mother, deliberately not a baby-metrics tracker.

Partner mode stops being a placeholder

Partner mode went from a screen with almost nothing in it to an actually working feature in one evening. There's deliberately no global searchable directory of users — that would let someone enumerate phone numbers or names, which is a real harassment risk — so search only matches people you already know, and any valid name, phone or invite code offers a share-sheet invite instead, never auto-sent.

Each account also gets its own shareable invite code, and a real partner can now redeem it through the backend (a new Supabase migration and a server-side function) to genuinely link accounts — verified end to end, including a same-evening fix for a database constraint that would otherwise have blocked account deletion for anyone who'd created a family. Partner mode now shows live connection status with a disconnect option, and a granular sharing toggle so you decide exactly what a connected partner sees: your score, energy, mood, requests for help, baby routine — journal, cycle, pregnancy and medical data are structurally excluded, not just hidden by a setting. What a partner does see turns into concrete, consent-scoped suggestions like "handle bedtime" or "cover an open ask," never a guess beyond what's actually shared.

Status today: Partner mode is a beta. It works end to end in testing, but partner sharing is still gated in the production App Store build while we finish reviewing it.

Everyday things that don't need their own post

The rest of the day was a long run of smaller, honest improvements: the bottom navigation was reworked to Today · Timeline · Refuel AI · Care · You so the tab bar finally matched what the app actually does; the website got a full new home page and menu design that evening; pregnancy planning gained a calm, non-clinical guide that deliberately makes no fertility prediction; cycle awareness and Apple Health sleep now prefill parts of your check-in (manual entry always wins); doctor visit prep gained an editable "questions for your doctor" section; and the Home Screen widget, a "add a journal note" Siri shortcut, app-wide search, and separately-configurable notification categories all shipped. Marketplace foundations (a give/sell/rent/request model) were added as architecture only — not exposed anywhere yet, and honest that no verification exists. And late that night, an art-direction pass gave the whole app calmer shadows, a warm background wash, and a slower, more considered motion language, without touching any of the logic above.
