Who we are
Mommy Refuel (the iPhone app, its Apple Watch app and widgets, and the website mommyrefuel.com) is operated by SEVEN AM Limited Liability Company, Kyiv, Ukraine (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: hello@mommyrefuel.com.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and the app contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
Data you enter
Check-ins (mood, energy, sleep, an optional note), recovery entries, journal entries, cycle entries, life-stage details (for example pregnancy week or weeks postpartum), memories, child profiles and any other information you add. This data is stored on your device. Your journal is protected on the device and is never sent to Refuel AI.
You can use the app without an account. Without an account, nothing you enter leaves your device except what you choose to send to Refuel AI (which needs an account, see below).
Optional Apple ID sign-in
Signing in with Apple is optional. If you sign in, Apple gives us a private user identifier and, if you share it, your name. We do not request your email address. The identifier is used to create your account with our backend provider, Supabase; your name stays on your device. An account is needed for Refuel AI, data export from our servers and account deletion.
Product analytics (opt-in)
Analytics are off by default. Only if you turn on “Improve Mommy Refuel” in the app do we record which screens and features are used. Each event contains the event name, an anonymous install identifier created on your device, your user identifier if you are signed in, the app version, platform and device locale. Events carry no content: no check-in values, notes, journal text, health data or AI messages. Events are stored with Supabase. You can turn analytics off at any time; the install identifier is replaced when you delete your account.
Apple Health (read-only)
If you allow it, the app reads (never writes) these Apple Health types: sleep, steps, period starts, resting heart rate and weight.
- Steps, resting heart rate and weight stay on your device.
- Sleep pre-fills the sleep value in your check-in. It is synced to our servers only if you are signed in and cloud sync is turned on.
- Period starts feed the cycle feature on your device.
Apple Health data is never used for advertising or sold. The only values derived from Apple Health that can reach Refuel AI are your check-in’s sleep_hours and your cycle_day, and only after you have agreed to AI data sharing.
Refuel AI
Refuel AI is optional and sends nothing until you have signed in and agreed to AI data sharing in the app. When you use it, the app sends your message and a small structured context, for example: life stage, pregnancy week or weeks postpartum, Refuel Score and its direction, mood, energy, sleep_hours, today’s focus, recent recovery symptoms and their safety level, helpful actions, mood tags, cycle_day, feeding and whether Care Circle contacts are available.
Never sent: your name, email, journal or note text. If you choose to have Life Capture sorted by the assistant, the text you dictated or typed is sent as your message. The context is checked on our server, which rejects fields such as journal text or notes.
Requests go through our server to Anthropic (Claude), which generates the reply. If Anthropic is unavailable, the request may be answered by OpenAI instead. These providers process the data to return a reply and, under their API terms, do not use it to train their models. You can withdraw AI consent at any time in the app.
Microphone and speech recognition
The microphone and Apple speech recognition are used only while you dictate a note. Recognition happens on your device where your device supports it; otherwise Apple processes the audio under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive or store audio.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase: accounts, opt-in analytics, data export and deletion, and the server that forwards Refuel AI requests.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting of this website and a backup AI server (AWS Lambda, Frankfurt region) used only if the main AI route is unavailable.
- Anthropic: generates Refuel AI replies, after your consent. OpenAI may be used as a fallback if Anthropic is unavailable.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, speech recognition and app distribution, under Apple’s own terms.
- Google: Google Analytics on this website, only if you accept (see below).
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under their standard data-protection terms.
This website
The website uses Google Analytics 4 only if you press “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage, key mr-consent). Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google Fonts. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and reliability.
Your rights and choices
- Export: export your data from the app.
- Delete: delete your account and the data stored on our servers from the app; deleting the app removes the data on your device.
- Withdraw consent: turn off analytics, AI data sharing or Apple Health access at any time.
- Access, correction and complaints: contact us at hello@mommyrefuel.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
We keep server data while your account exists and delete it when you delete your account.
Children
Mommy Refuel is for adults. Information about a baby or child is entered and controlled by the parent or caregiver on their own device.
Not a medical service
Mommy Refuel is wellbeing support. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat. For medical concerns, contact your doctor or midwife; in an emergency, call local emergency services.
Changes and contact
